Christmas Wine & Champagne Gifts 2026

Christmas Day 2026 falls on Friday 25 December. If you are giving wine — to a client list, your team, a host, or family — the two things that decide whether it lands are the price band and the order date. Both are below.

Order by these dates

If you want it before Christmas Order by
Corporate orders (10+ bottles, multiple addresses) Friday 11 December
Standard delivery (2–5 business days) Friday 18 December
Same-day / express (HK$200–500) Up to Thursday 24 December

December is our busiest month and popular bottles sell through in the final two weeks — Ruinart, Veuve Clicquot and the Bordeaux second wines go first. If you are cutting it fine, WhatsApp us and we will tell you honestly whether it will make it.

What to give, by price

Team, colleagues, your building's security guards — under HK$300

Volume matters more than subtlety here. G.H. Mumm Cordon Rouge comes in its own gift box, which saves you wrapping thirty bottles. Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label and Piper-Heidsieck are the names everyone recognises. For red, a Bordeaux second wine carries a classified estate's name at an everyday price.

Clients, your boss, in-laws — HK$300 to HK$800

The main gifting range in Hong Kong. Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, Bollinger, Pol Roger, Louis Roederer Collection. For Bordeaux, Château Lascombes and Château la Tour Carnet are classified estates a recipient can look up.

Corporate and bulk orders

Send us the number of bottles, the budget per bottle and the delivery addresses. We confirm stock, hold it for you, and deliver to multiple addresses across Hong Kong on a date you choose.

Two things worth knowing. We hold physical stock in Hong Kong, so we can tell you today whether 60 bottles of one wine actually exist rather than promising and back-ordering — which is the failure mode that ruins December. And there is no minimum order, so a mixed list with three price tiers is not a problem.

WhatsApp +852 6035 9497 or email sales@hkonlinewineshop.com. Office hours Monday to Friday, 10am–6pm.

What to open on the day

Christmas lunch in Hong Kong is rarely a English roast. If you are eating Cantonese, a lighter red works better than a big one — roast goose and char siu go with Pinot Noir or a fresher Bordeaux vintage, not a heavy Napa Cabernet. Rosé champagne is the one bottle that handles soy, sugar and fat together.

If it is a turkey: white Burgundy or a Pinot Noir. If it is a beef rib: Bordeaux or Shiraz. If it is dessert and you want one bottle to end on, a sweet wine or a demi-sec champagne rather than something dry.

Delivery to offices, homes and hotels

We deliver across Hong Kong. You do not need to be there — reception or the concierge can sign for it. Free delivery on orders over HK$800; under that, a flat HK$80. More on hotel delivery.

A note on choosing

Older is not automatically better. A bottle over ten years old may be past its window, and cork condition varies. Unless you know the recipient collects, a recent vintage in good condition is the better gift.

Think about where it will sit. Most Hong Kong flats have nowhere cool to keep wine. Give something they will open within a few weeks rather than something that needs cellaring. More on storage in Hong Kong.

Why buy wine in Hong Kong

Hong Kong abolished duty on wine in 2008 and has no sales tax or VAT. In most producing countries a bottle carries excise duty plus VAT of 20% or more — which is why the same wine is often cheaper here than in the country that made it.

Wine-Searcher has awarded us Gold — Online List in Hong Kong in both 2024 and 2025/26. You can verify this on the Wine-Searcher Retailer Awards page.
