Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque 2013 (1x75cl)

Belle Epoque is Perrier-Jouët's prestige cuvée — the top of the house, made only in declared vintages. The bottle is the one with the hand-painted white anemones, designed by Emile Gallé in 1902.

What makes it different from Grand Brut. Grand Brut is the everyday house style. Belle Epoque is a single year, aged far longer before release, and built on Chardonnay from the house's best sites. It is more precise, more floral, and has real length.

When to drink it. Serve at 10–12°C, not ice-cold, and use a wine glass rather than a flute. Cold and a narrow glass will hide everything you paid for.

As a gift. This is the bottle that does not need explaining. It comes in its own presentation box and it looks like an occasion before it is even opened.
