コレクション: Amarone della Valpolicella

Amarone is made by a method almost nobody else uses: the grapes are dried on mats for three to four months before pressing. Water evaporates, sugar concentrates, and the resulting wine is enormous — typically 15–16% alcohol, deeply rich, and yet dry.

What it is for. This is not a food wine in the usual sense. It is a wine for the end of the evening, for cold weather, for aged cheese, or for drinking on its own after dinner. Pairing it with a delicate dish wastes both.

A warning worth giving. The alcohol is real. A glass of Amarone is not a glass of Chianti — treat it accordingly.
