Australia and New Zealand, delivered in Hong Kong — two countries that do very different things well.

Australia. Shiraz is the signature. Penfolds St Henri is the reference point on our list: matured without new oak, so it shows the fruit rather than the barrel. Two Hands from the Barossa sits alongside it.

New Zealand. Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is the country's calling card — Cloudy Bay and Whitehaven — and Cloudy Bay also makes Chardonnay, Te Koko and Central Otago Pinot Noir. Tolpuddle in Tasmania is worth knowing for Chardonnay.

Hong Kong note. These are screw-cap wines as often as not, which travels and stores better in this climate than cork.
