コレクション: Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny is the most delicate village in the Côte de Nuits. The soils here have more limestone and less clay than its neighbours, and the wines come out lighter-framed, higher-toned and intensely perfumed.

The classic comparison. If Gevrey-Chambertin is the power and Vosne-Romanée is the velvet, Chambolle is the lace. It is the village people reach for when they want Pinot Noir to be graceful rather than imposing.

The famous names. Grand Cru Musigny and Bonnes-Mares, plus Les Amoureuses — a Premier Cru so highly regarded it trades above most Grand Crus.

Serving matters more here than elsewhere. 14–15°C, and do not over-decant. Chambolle's aromatics are its whole point, and heat or too much air destroys them faster than in a heavier wine. In a Hong Kong flat this means putting it in the fridge for twenty minutes before serving.
