Vie di Romans Piere Sauvignon Blanc 2017 (1x75cl)

Friuli sits up in the north-east corner of Italy, close to the mountains, and its whites usually have that cool, tight feel rather than tropical fruit salad. This is the bottle for a seafood dinner, a plate of raw fish, or a warm Hong Kong evening when nothing heavy sounds good.

With a few years in bottle, a white like this often feels rounder than a young Sauvignon Blanc. Keep it in the fridge and pull it out when friends arrive.

Tasting notes

Sauvignon Blanc from this part of Italy typically shows citrus, white peach and a herbal, stony edge, with fresh acidity rather than sweetness. Serve well chilled, around 8-10°C.
