Quinta da Sequeira Tawny Port (1x75cl)

Tawny Port from the Douro in Portugal. Tawny is aged in wood, which is why it comes out amber and nutty instead of dark and fruity like the ruby styles, and it makes for a gentler, rounder glass after a meal.

A small pour after dinner is all you need, and it's easy with almond biscuits, walnuts, cheese or dark chocolate. Once opened it holds up in the fridge far longer than a still wine, so you don't have to finish it in one night.

Tasting notes

Tawny Port usually shows walnut and almond, dried figs, caramel and orange peel from its time in wood, with sweetness balanced by a nutty, dry-edged finish. Serve lightly chilled, around 12-14°C.
