Prunotto Bussia 2019 Barolo DOCG (1x75cl)

Barolo is made only from Nebbiolo, and it has to age a set minimum time in the cellar before it can be released, so any bottle you buy has already had some time behind it. Bussia is one of Barolo's named crus and it is printed on the label.

One thing worth knowing before you pour: Nebbiolo is usually pale in colour but high in tannin and acid. People see a light red in the glass and expect something gentle, then get the firmest wine on the table. Decant it, and give it food — braised beef, mushroom risotto, aged cheese.

Tasting notes

Nebbiolo usually shows red cherry, rose, tar and dried herbs, with grippy tannin and high acidity that typically loosen after an hour in a decanter.
