Planeta Santa Cecilia, Doc Noto 2021 (1x75cl)

Noto sits in the south-east corner of Sicily, and reds from there are built on Nero d'Avola, the island's main red grape. "Santa Cecilia" is the cuvee name printed on the label.

Sicilian reds are usually warm and ripe with a savoury edge, which makes this a good match for grilled lamb, roast pork, tomato-based pasta or a plate of hard cheese. Easy bottle to bring to a dinner where you do not know the menu yet.

Tasting notes

Nero d'Avola usually gives ripe dark cherry and plum with a savoury, herbal edge and medium to firm tannin. Serve it around 17°C, and give it a short decant.
