Pavillon de Léoville Poyferré is the second wine of Château Léoville Poyferré, a Second Growth of Saint-Julien classified in 1855.

Saint-Julien. The commune between Margaux and Pauillac, and the most consistently reliable on the Left Bank — it combines perfume with structure and rarely disappoints in any given vintage.

Why 2007 at this price. 2007 was a light, early-drinking vintage, which is exactly why a second wine from it is good value now: it is fully mature, and there is no waiting involved.

When to drink it. Now. Decant thirty minutes. Roast meat, duck, mushroom dishes.
