Or Sileis Glen Elgin Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2007-2020 (1x70cl)

This is an independent bottling from Or Sileis, not an official Glen Elgin distillery release. The whisky was distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2020, giving it around thirteen years in cask before it went into the bottle.

Independent bottlers pick individual casks, so a whisky like this shows a distillery through someone else's selection rather than the house style you'd get from the official range. Good for a whisky friend who has already worked through the usual suspects, and a more interesting gift than a shelf-standard bottle.

Tasting notes

Speyside malt of this age usually shows orchard fruit, malty sweetness, honey and a touch of wood spice, without peat smoke. Start neat, then add a drop of water if the alcohol sits forward.
