Lions de Suduiraut Blanc Sec - Bordeaux White 2023 (1x75cl)

Lions de Suduiraut Blanc Sec 2023 is the dry white of Château Suduiraut (Sauternes), from a dedicated plot of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris (vines about 20 years) on fine gravel and sand. The official estate technical PDF gives a blend of 57% Sémillon, 30% Sauvignon Blanc and 13% Sauvignon Gris; ageing 70% in vats and 30% in barrels for six months with fine-lees stirring. Picking for the dry whites began 24 August 2023 after a mildew-pressured July and a cooler early August that retained malic acid; bottled 6 February 2024.

Tasting notes

Technical director Pierre Montégut (January 2024) describes pale yellow; an open nose of white flowers and citrus evolving to passion fruit and mineral notes; a round, fresh attack; mid-palate of pink pomelo, pear and toasted hazelnut; and a persistent saline finish of hazelnut and pear.
