Clos Du Marquis 2000 (1x75cl)

Clos du Marquis 2000 is a Saint-Julien red from Domaines Delon (sister wine to Chateau Leoville Las Cases, from the inland plateau rather than the Grand Enclos). The official Domaines Delon technical sheet gives a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, 12.75% alcohol, harvest from 28 September to 11 October 2000. The sheet places about 40 ha on quaternary gravel on the Saint-Julien plateau west of the Las Cases enclosure.

Tasting notes

Period and sheet-linked notes emphasise dense blackcurrant and cherry fruit, medium to full body and a concentrated, stylish Saint-Julien profile from a warm, dry late season after an early start to the cycle.
