Chateau Prieure Lichine 2023 (1x75cl)

Chateau Prieure Lichine 2023 is a Margaux red from an estate classified as a Fourth Growth in 1855. The official estate technical sheet gives a first-wine blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot from about 75 ha of Günz Garonne gravel (yield ~40 hl/ha for the Grand Vin). Merlot was picked 13–22 September and Cabernet Sauvignon 23 September–4 October after a humid June mildew fight and a hot summer; vatting 21–24 days; ageing 35% new barrels and 60% second-fill. Winemaker Étienne Charrier with consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt; HVE-certified.

Tasting notes

The estate presents 2023 as concentrated and refined, with Cabernet Sauvignon starring for power and elegance, and a more classic Bordeaux statement than recent hotter years.
