Chateau la Fleur de Bouard 2014 (1x75cl)

Lalande-de-Pomerol sits just north of Pomerol on Bordeaux's right bank, and the reds from here are usually Merlot-led — rounder and softer than left bank Cabernet, which makes them easier to open on a weeknight without much fuss.

This 2014 has had a decade in bottle, so it is ready rather than something you need to hide away. Good with braised beef, roast duck or a cheese plate. We deliver free in Hong Kong over HK$800, flat HK$80 below that.

Tasting notes

Merlot-led right bank Bordeaux typically shows ripe plum, black cherry and a little cocoa or coffee from oak, with softer, rounder tannins than left bank reds. With ten years in bottle you usually get some dried fruit and forest floor appearing. Half an hour in a decanter is normally plenty.
