Chateau Haut-Batailley is a Pauillac neighbour of Batailley on the left bank, and this 1989 has more than thirty-five years in bottle. It is the sort of bottle people bring to an anniversary dinner or hand over when a birth year lines up.

Tasting notes

Aged left bank Bordeaux typically shifts towards dried dark fruit, cedar, tobacco leaf and damp earth, with tannins that have settled. Serve around 16-18°C and expect sediment at the bottom.
