Chateau De Beaucastel 2019 (1x75cl)

Beaucastel is known within Châteauneuf-du-Pape for using an unusually high proportion of Mourvèdre alongside Grenache and Syrah, giving it a more structured, savoury style than many appellation neighbours that lean mostly on Grenache.

Good with roasted or braised meat, and a solid pick if you want a Rhône name for a dinner rather than another Bordeaux.

Tasting notes

Mourvèdre-led Châteauneuf-du-Pape typically shows dark fruit, dried herb and gamey, earthy notes, with a fuller body and firmer tannins than lighter Grenache-based styles.
