Chateau Canon 2009 (1x75cl)

Chateau Canon is in Saint-Emilion, on the right bank of Bordeaux, where blends are Merlot-led. This 2009 has over 15 years in bottle, so the sharp edges of youth have usually settled by now — a right bank red at this age tends to drink rounder and more open than the same wine at five years old.

Tasting notes

Merlot-led Saint-Emilion with 15 years of age typically shows plum and black cherry shifting towards dried fruit, with cocoa, sweet spice, tobacco and earthy notes, and soft resolved tannins. Some sediment is normal at this age.
