Carmes De Rieussec, Sauternes 2015 (1x75cl)

A sweet Sauternes from 2015, the second wine of Château Rieussec, made mainly from Sémillon affected by noble rot. Sweet Bordeaux is easier to enjoy than people assume, as long as you serve it properly cold and pour small glasses.

Classic with foie gras and blue cheese, but it also goes surprisingly well with mango desserts or a fruit tart. A friendly Mid-Autumn or year-end gift for someone who isn't a red wine drinker.

Tasting notes

Sauternes typically shows apricot, honey, candied orange and a hint of ginger or barley sugar, with acidity cutting through the sweetness. Usually served at 8-10°C.
